HomeGuide lists $3,500 to $10,000 for a whole interior and $350 to $850 for a bedroom. Painters often charge $1 to $3 per square foot of wall area. The two guides measure differently, so treat these as rough national ranges, not Spokane or Coeur d'Alene prices.

What affects the cost
- How much you paint. Walls only costs less than walls, ceilings and trim. Angi averages $2.75 per square foot for walls alone and $4.70 when trim and ceilings are included.
- Prep work. Patching, sanding and priming add time. Angi lists $0.50 to $0.75 per square foot for prep, and drywall repairs average about $600.
- Ceiling height. Tall walls and vaulted ceilings need ladders or scaffolding.
- Color changes. Going from dark to light often takes primer and an extra coat.
- Texture. Angi says textured walls can raise the cost by up to 50% because they take more paint.
- Furniture. Moving furniture yourself saves the crew time.
