Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between your shop and Doing Work LLC for using Doing Work.
Who we are
Doing Work is software run by Doing Work LLC, an Idaho limited liability company in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. “We” means Doing Work LLC. “You” means the shop and the people it gives seats to. By creating a shop or using Doing Work, you agree to these terms. Contact contact@doingwork.work.
Doing Work is offered to businesses in the United States, and this website isn’t aimed at people outside the US.
The service and price
Doing Work is hosted field-service software for small shops. $49 per month includes 5 seats. Each extra seat is $10 per month. Billed annually, the plan is about $39 per month ($468 a year).
The plan is month to month. There is no free trial. The plan renews each period until you cancel. Prices can change only with at least 30 days’ email notice to the account owner. A new price takes effect at your next renewal.
Each paid month includes 100 texts, and unused included texts don’t roll over. You can buy extra text packs ($5 for 200, $15 for 750, or $40 for 2,500), which carry forward while your account is open. We never buy packs for you, and there is no overage charge.
Payments
Card payments go through Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. If a payment fails, we’ll try to email you. If it isn’t fixed within 7 days, we may pause new work in your account until it is. The 30-day money-back guarantee is in the Refund Policy.
Your account and sign-in
Doing Work signs you in with a one-time code sent to your work email. Keep that email account secure. You are responsible for what happens under your shop, including people you give seats to and any AI agent or API key you create. You must be at least 18 and able to agree for your shop.
Your data
Your shop’s data (customers, jobs, quotes, and invoices) belongs to your shop. We use it only to run Doing Work for you, and as the Privacy Policy says. Email contact@doingwork.work anytime to ask for an export.
How we handle your customers’ data
We process your customers’ information only to provide Doing Work to you and as you direct in the app. We don’t sell it, use it for our own marketing, or combine it with other data except to run the service. We keep it confidential, use only the service providers listed in the Privacy Policy, tell you by email without undue delay if we learn of a breach affecting it, and help you answer your customers’ privacy requests.
Acceptable use
You must be authorized to bind your shop. You may not misuse the service, attempt unauthorized access, or use Doing Work for unlawful activity.
- Do not send spam, or texts or emails to people who did not agree to receive them.
- Do not scrape the service or put a load on it that harms it.
- Do not abuse the public demo.
If you use Doing Work to send marketing emails, your shop is the sender, and you’ll include your business’s mailing address and honor unsubscribe requests.
AI agents and the API
The REST API and MCP let AI agents and scripts act for your shop with keys your shop creates. Anything an agent or script sends to a customer needs the shop owner’s approval, either for that message or through an automatic send the owner turned on. You are responsible for what those agents and scripts do with your keys. Revoke a key in Settings to stop it.
Connected services
QuickBooks Online, Google, and Meta connections turn on after those companies approve Doing Work’s access. When you connect one, that company’s own terms also apply to your account with them. Customer texts turn on after your shop’s texting number is approved, which can take from a few days to a few weeks.
If you turn on ad uploads, you are responsible for having your customers’ permission and for following Google’s and Meta’s customer data terms.
Text messages (SMS program terms)
These terms cover Doing Work Texts, the text messaging program run by Doing Work LLC. They apply to shops that text customers through Doing Work, to the customers who get those texts, and to owners who opt in to Doing Work account texts. Sample messages are on our text messaging page. Visit texts turn on after your shop’s texting number is approved, which can take from a few days to a few weeks.
What the program sends
Shops send visit texts to their own customers, using Doing Work. Visit texts are appointment reminders, On My Way texts when the tech heads out, and one follow-up after a finished visit that thanks the customer and links to the shop’s review page. Each shop texts from its own verified toll-free number, and every visit text starts with the shop’s name. Every customer text ends with “Reply STOP to opt out.”
Doing Work sends account texts from its own toll-free number, only to shop owners who opted in at signup. Account texts are test previews you ask for, so you can see a reminder on your own phone. The program does not send marketing or promotional texts.
How often and what it costs
Message frequency varies. Visit texts are usually 1 to 4 per visit. Account texts depend on how often you ask for a test preview. Message and data rates may apply, and your mobile carrier bills them.
Stopping texts and getting help
Reply STOP to any text to opt out. Your carrier confirms the opt-out, and that number sends you no more texts unless you reply START or UNSTOP. Replying STOP to a shop’s number stops texts from that shop only. Reply HELP to any text for help. A shop’s HELP reply gives the shop’s phone or email, and a Doing Work HELP reply points to contact@doingwork.work.
Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
What shops agree to
If your shop turns on texting, you agree to the following.
- You will text only customers who agreed to get texts from your shop, and you will record how and when each one agreed.
- You will not use Doing Work to send marketing or promotional texts, or to text purchased or shared lists.
- Customers you import from another system start with no text consent on record, and you will get their consent before texting them.
- You authorize Doing Work LLC to register a dedicated texting number for your shop with Twilio and wireless carriers using the business details you give us, and you confirm those details are accurate.
- Doing Work will not text a number that replied STOP, and you will not try to text it another way through Doing Work.
We may pause texting for a shop that breaks these rules or that a carrier flags.
Privacy
The Privacy Policy explains how phone numbers and consent records are handled. Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in consent are not sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Cancellation and account termination
You can cancel anytime from Billing in the app or by emailing contact@doingwork.work. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for. We don’t refund partial periods after the 30-day money-back window.
We may suspend or close an account for nonpayment, breaking these terms, illegal use, or texting that a carrier flags. We email the account owner first when we reasonably can. After an account closes, data is handled as the Privacy Policy says. Export your shop’s data before you ask us to delete the account.
If we stop offering Doing Work, we’ll email the account owner at least 30 days before and give you a way to export your data.
Demo shop
The public demo uses fake sample data and resets nightly. Don’t put real customer data in it.
No warranty
Doing Work is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work to keep it running and accurate, but we don’t promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Wireless carriers, Stripe, and other outside services can have outages we don’t control.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Doing Work LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data. Our total liability for any claim about Doing Work is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $100. This limit doesn’t apply to amounts you owe us or to your indemnity. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they apply only as far as the law allows.
Indemnity
If someone brings a claim against us because of your shop’s data, your texts or emails to your customers, or your breach of these terms, you’ll cover our reasonable costs from that claim.
Governing law
Idaho law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts located in Kootenai County, Idaho, and both sides agree to those courts. Before filing, email contact@doingwork.work and give us 30 days to try to fix it.
Children
Doing Work is a business tool for adults. It isn’t meant for anyone under 18. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to these terms
We’ll post changes here and update the effective date. For a change that materially affects you, we’ll email the account owner at least 30 days before it takes effect. Using Doing Work after that date means you accept the change.
