Free for homeowners and shops

Get quotes from local shops for your home repair

Doing Work is a free way to get quotes from local shops anywhere in the US, free for homeowners and shops. Describe your job in a short chat and add photos if you like. We search every shop we can find in your area, whether or not they use Doing Work, and invite the best fits. Nothing goes to shops until you confirm your job summary. You compare the quotes that come back and pick who to hire.

We never sell your information. Shops never pay for leads or to be included.

How it works

Three steps

  1. 1

    Describe the job once

Tell the chat what needs fixing or installing. Add photos if you like. It asks only what a shop needs to price the job.

  2. 2

    Confirm, and we reach out

Check your job summary and confirm it. Nothing goes to shops before that. Then we search every shop we can find in your area, whether or not they use Doing Work, and invite the best fits.

  3. 3

    Compare real quotes and pick

Shops that want the job send quotes. You compare them and pick who to hire. Your phone and email stay private until you do.

What shops see

Your job, not your contact details

Shops we invite get your job summary and photos. Your phone and email stay private until you pick a shop. Your street address goes only to a shop you move on to a quote.

How we pick shops

License, area, fit, reviews

We rank on license, service area, fit for the job and reviews. Shops don't need to be Doing Work customers to be recommended, and being a customer doesn't affect how we recommend them. Read the full method.
