On the visit
Your agent works with the worker in conversation. There are no buttons to tap and no app to open. These are the actions it uses and what it says.
Before the visit
The agent reads visits.brief: the customer, the address, the request, recent texts and calls, notes, photo summaries with measurements, open tasks and similar past quotes. Worker: "What's my next stop about?"
Guided steps
visits.steps returns the shop's steps and the next one to suggest. The agent marks each with visits.markStep when the worker says it's done or wants to skip it. The eight default steps are: arrive, walk through the job, send photos and measurements, ask about questions, budget and timing, debrief and send any recording, send the recap email, draft the quote, and book the next step. The owner or office edits them with shops.setVisitSteps.
Recordings
When the worker sends a walkthrough recording, the agent listens to it, then adds it with visits.addRecording with what the worker said it is, the transcript and when it was recorded. If it's clearly a different job, the agent asks first. Doing Work keeps the transcript as a note and never stores the audio. Doing Work does not check recording consent. Under the Terms, the shop is responsible for any consent the law requires.
Recap email
visits.draftRecap drafts it from what the worker said. The agent reads it back, changes it with visits.editRecap, and sends it with visits.approveRecap only when the worker says send it. Worker: "Send her the recap."
Quote drafts
quotes.draftFromVisit takes lines in the worker's words. Prices come from the shop's own signed quotes, then its price book, then past quotes. If a price book item changed after the last signed quote, the price book price is used. A line with no price found stays blank for the worker. The agent reads each line and records the worker's answer with quotes.decideDraftLine, then makes the quote with quotes.finishDraft. The agent never sets a price on its own, and the quote goes out only when the worker says so.
Learning from corrections
When the worker edits or rejects a draft, the agent saves the before, the after and the reason with corrections.record, and reads corrections.recent before the next draft. Lessons are shared across the shop without names. Doing Work staff see only anonymous counts across shops, and a pattern shows only when at least 3 shops have it.
Leads and the owner's morning
With the shop's lead rules on (requests.setLeadSettings), a new request gets one first reply within a minute: a text where the customer agreed to texts and the shop's own number is approved for business texting, otherwise an email. A lead from Angi, Angie's List, HomeAdvisor or Modernize, whose forms cover texts, gets one transactional first text when the shop's own 10DLC approved number is connected; any later text needs the customer to reply first, and without an approved number it gets an email. Leads from Thumbtack, Networx, Google and Yelp get an email. First texts are capped at one per phone number per shop every 30 days, and STOP and quiet hours always apply. After hours the shop can offer the first open time or hold the lead for the morning. The owner's morning email lists jobs under the margin floor, open items, the quote queue and held leads.
