# shops.create

Create a shop. The caller becomes its one owner. On the sign-up page the person also agrees to the Terms of Service (accept_terms_version), recorded with the version, time, IP address and browser; an agent cannot agree for them.

## When to use it

The person doesn't have a shop yet. Ask the business name and state or province first.

## What to tell the owner

I set up your shop. You're the owner.

## Output

JSON. The response shape isn't published yet; read the fields you need and ignore the rest. Errors are `{code, message, status}`.

## Errors

| Code | Status | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| `invalid_input` | 400 | A field is missing, the wrong type, or unknown. The message names the field. Fix the input; don't retry as is. |
| `feature_unavailable` | 403 | This isn't available for this shop or place yet. |
| `invalid_input`, `invalid_token`, `rate_limited` |  | Can happen on any call. See [errors](https://doingwork.work/docs/errors/). |
