# invoices.send

Send an invoice (or the next part of it) and get a single-use pay link. Earlier pay links stop working. payments_ready false means the shop has no active payments account yet (after a hand-off, connect one with payments.connectStart); the link shows payment isn't available until it does.

## When to use it

Send the invoice, or the next part of it, and get a pay link for the customer.

## What to tell the owner

Here's the pay link for your customer. The money goes to your Stripe account.

## Output

JSON. The response shape isn't published yet; read the fields you need and ignore the rest. Errors are `{code, message, status}`.

## Errors

| Code | Status | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| `payments_not_set_up` | 409 | The shop hasn't connected Stripe. The owner does that on a hosted page. |
| `conflict` | 409 | The record is in the wrong state for this, for example sending a quote that's already signed. Read it again and pick the next step. |
| `feature_unavailable` | 403 | This isn't available for this shop or place yet. |
| `invalid_input`, `invalid_token`, `rate_limited` |  | Can happen on any call. See [errors](https://doingwork.work/docs/errors/). |
